An American multinational food manufacturer reached out to Industrial Applications Inc to recoat a 7500 sq ft metal deck platform and encapsulate equipment and structural column bases.
Team IA demoed existing coatings and prepped the metal deck surface before coating with a 4-coat epoxy-polyaspartic floor coating system. Substrate was primed with an ultra-high solids low odor/VOC penetrating epoxy primer. Intermediate coat application was with a pigmented 100% solids low odor/VOC high-performance epoxy. Finally, Team IA installed two topcoats of 94% solids pigmented low odor/VOC polyaspartic with #60 aluminum-oxide encapsulated for anti-slip texture.
Equipment column bases and structural column bases were encapsulated in 4” cant cove trowel installed with epoxy mortar. Coved bases were grout coated with clear 100% solids high-performance epoxy and topcoated with two coats of 94% solids pigmented low odor/VOC polyaspartic.
