Urethane concrete is one of the very best options for a commercial kitchen due to its chemical, thermal and slip resistance, low maintenance requirements, and its extreme durability. With all those characteristics being important to Frida’s, we suggested a Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete MD cementitious urethane flooring system.
We began by shot blasting the concrete floor in the kitchen to remove bond breakers and create a profile for the coating to bond. Then, we performed careful patching of cracks and repairs of spalls and voids, keyed in all drained and termination edges, and troweled in 4” cove base to create a seamless floor. In this kitchen area, we applied a prime coat of Poly-Crete TF and a Poly-Crete MD topping.
We also applied a strong, exceptionally durable and fast-curing MMA coating in the Dining room, hall, bar, electrical room and office. We began by shot blasting the concrete floor to remove bond breakers and create a profile for the coating to bond. In these areas, we applied a prime coat of Cryl-A-Prime, an initial top coat of Cryl-A-Top, and a finishing top coat of Cryl-A-Top with an onyx, copper and coffee swirl in the coatings to create an attractive finish desired by the customer. This resulted in a flooring system with aesthetic appeal and functional strength necessary to withstand daily wear and tear without compromising appearance.
