School Kitchens need to be resilient!

School kitchen floors need to be – resilient to withstand heavy traffic and spills, easy to clean to ensure a hygienic kitchen, slip resistant to provide a safe work environment and durable to last a long time to fit within school budgets.  Many schools have reached out to Industrial Applications Inc over the years to provide a reliable floor, expertly installed and able to withstand the high wear and heavy cleaning essential in a school kitchen.  This recent project was no exception.  #TeamIA prepped the existing quarry tile with shot blasting, and installed urethane concrete with an integral cove base through the kitchen and decorative flake in the kitchen bathroom.

Project Spotlight: Guntown Middle School, MS

A busy school kitchen needs a floor that can do it all; stand up to rolling food carts and constant foot traffic, shrug off hot-oil splashes, wash down fast at the end of every shift, and keep staff safe day in and day out.

That’s exactly what #TeamIA delivered for Guntown Middle School:

• Surface prep that lasts – we shot-blasted the worn quarry tile to open the pores and lock in the new system after replacing all loose tiles.
• Seamless protection – a heavy-duty urethane-concrete system with an integral 4″ cove keeps water, grease, and cleaning chemicals from getting under the floor or behind the walls.
• Built-in safety – the textured, slip-resistant finish meets ADA and OSHA guidelines, reducing accident risk during the lunch-rush sprint.
• Budget-smart durability – urethane-concrete outperforms tile for decades, minimizing maintenance costs and downtime for tight school budgets.
