Industrial Applications serves a wide range of industries in Memphis and beyond. Below, we highlight how our polished concrete flooring services benefit some key sectors. If you don’t see your specific industry listed, just contact us – chances are we have experience with it too.
For aviation hangars and airport terminals, Industrial Applications delivers polished concrete that keeps these high-traffic facilities running smoothly. TN’s aviation hubs benefit greatly from our durable concrete floor. Polished concrete can handle the extreme weight of aircraft and support equipment without cracking, making it ideal for aviation needs. It also resists damage from fuel and hydraulic fluid spills, simplifying cleanup and reducing slip hazards in busy hangars. The high-gloss finish brightens the space by reflecting light, helping staff work safely. The result is a long-lasting, high-performance floor that keeps your hangar or airport facility world-class.
Automotive dealership showrooms and service areas need flooring that is both attractive and tough. Industrial Applications delivers a polished concrete floor that gives Memphis Tennessee dealerships a sleek, professional shine worthy of the vehicles on display. At the same time, the floor is durable enough to support vehicles driving on it and resists tire marks and skids.
Polished concrete is also low maintenance – it keeps its gloss without waxing, and spills clean up easily. By choosing Industrial Applications, TN’s auto dealerships get a high-performance showroom floor that impresses customers and stands up to everyday use.
Across Memphis, auto repair shops need a hard-working floor that can take a beating. Polished concrete is the perfect fit for this environment. Unlike other flooring that can peel, polished concrete is part of the slab itself – with no surface layer to chip or flake. It holds up under floor jacks, engine hoists, heavy foot traffic, and even dropped tools with ease. The sealed concrete also repels oil and grease, so spills wipe away without soaking in, keeping the shop safer and cleaner. We can even refinish old, stained concrete in TN’s repair shops, grinding away imperfections and polishing the slab to a like-new condition. The result is a bright, professional workshop floor that boosts morale and impresses customers. With our high-performance polishing, even decades-old shop concrete can be revitalized into a durable asset for your business.
Warehouses and distribution centers demand floors that endure heavy loads and constant forklift traffic. TN’s warehouses choose our polished concrete for its ability to handle pallet jacks and heavy inventory without damage.
We polish existing warehouse slabs to create a dust-free, hardened surface that dramatically improves performance. The reflective polished floor also brightens large aisles, reducing the need for extra lighting and helping staff see clearly, and it is easy to keep clean – there’s no flaking epoxy or concrete dust to constantly sweep up. We refinish concrete in warehouses across Tennessee, turning dull concrete into high-performance flooring that boosts productivity and lowers long-term costs.
From power plants to fabrication shops, industrial facilities demand floors that perform under the harshest conditions. Industrial Applications meets those needs with robust polished concrete services tailored to TN’s industrial sector. Our team of concrete experts prepares and polishes the concrete floor to handle extreme stresses like heavy machinery, vibration, and chemical exposure. The result is incredibly tough and built to last for decades.
Industrial facilities also appreciate the improved brightness and cleanliness polished concrete brings, especially when we refinish an older factory floor by eliminating pitting and cracks and leaving a smooth, safe platform. For Tennessee industries focused on reliability and performance, Industrial Applications delivers flooring that truly stands out.
Manufacturing facilities in Tennessee benefit from a polished concrete floor that supports efficient production. Industrial Applications has extensive experience serving manufacturing clients, and we understand the details that matter. We ensure your polished concrete is level and flat so forklifts and carts can move smoothly without jolts, minimizing wear on equipment. If your facility layout changes, a polished concrete surface is versatile – you can paint safety lines or reconfigure work areas without worrying about damaging the floor. In short, our polished concrete gives TN’s manufacturers a robust, adaptable foundation for productivity.

At Industrial Applications, we use a multi-step concrete polishing process to achieve a mirror-like finish. We start by grinding the concrete with coarse diamond tooling to remove imperfections. Next, we polish in progressive stages with finer grits (multiple polish passes), gradually refining the concrete. We also apply densifiers that strengthen the concrete and bring out a radiant shine. The final polish leaves the concrete looking like glass while maintaining the full strength of the slab. This initial polish will endure for years with minimal upkeep, and we can always perform a refresher polish down the line if needed. Contact us if you’d like to learn more about how we can polish your concrete to perfection.
While both polished concrete and epoxy flooring are durable options, they have distinct advantages. Epoxy floor coatings create a protective layer on the concrete and are ideal for areas needing chemical containment or specific colors like industrial kitchens.
Polished concrete, on the other hand, transforms the slab itself into the finished floor – with no overlay to fail – making it extremely long-lasting and low maintenance.
Industrial Applications offers both polished concrete services and epoxy flooring services.

Industrial Applications’ Memphis crews who are commercial concrete polishing experts can take a concrete substrate in bad shape and do necessary repairs to get it ready for polishing. Seams and joints between slabs are cut, cleaned, and then filled with joint filler to create a smooth transition between slabs. If joints are cracked and compromised, we can fully rebuild those joints. We will remove blemishes and imperfections by grinding down the top layer of concrete. We use chemicals to harden the concrete surface which makes it durable and stain resistant.
Beautiful and strong, polished concrete reduces your installation costs because there is no need to purchase a floor covering for your concrete substrate. When other floor coatings fail and need to be repaired or replaced, polished concrete is a long-lasting solution and is not as vulnerable to damage as other materials and doesn’t need to be pulled up and replaced after a time. Polished concrete also typically meets or exceeds OSHA recommendations of a static coefficient friction of 0.5.
Polished concrete is not only gorgeous but also incredibly strong and highly resistant to heavy foot traffic, chips, cracks, and equipment traffic. Your floor must withstand a lot of daily use and abuse. Polished concrete is resistant to spills, chemicals, water, and oil and won’t transfer water and moisture. Due to the density of the polished concrete, spills will not seep into the floor and cause cracks. While densifiers toughen the concrete, they still allow the concrete to breathe, eliminating issues that arise from other flooring materials that seal off concrete, like tile.

Stains or colors can be applied to create the color or pattern you wish to have in your building. The higher grit tooling used, the higher the reflectivity – all based on the look you want your floor to have.
As the person responsible for your facility upkeep, you want an option that looks good and is easy to maintain. Instead of spending countless hours trying to keep your floor in good condition by waxing and buffing, polished concrete requires very little maintenance – at least 30% less than VCT tile. All you have to do to keep the floor looking great is to sweep and damp mop as needed. Because the protective surface works as a barrier against spills, cleanup is kept simple. Polished concrete will not harbor dust, dirt, and allergens.
Concrete does not have high thermal conductivity, which means it will take quite a long time to heat up and to cool down, creating an insulating effect and helping to balance temperature fluctuations. Using your existing slab and not adding a flooring that would need to be removed or replaced in the future is a sustainable solution, because it not only decreases material use but also the need for replacement – helping both the environment and your building maintenance costs. Polished concrete can also be sealed with low VOC (volatile organic compounds) to further decrease any environmental impact. With a polished concrete floor, there is also increased light reflectivity, projecting a professional image and saving on lighting costs. Polished concrete will add more light to the area without the cost of adding fixtures by reflecting light from windows and current lights.
During installation, dry, dust-controlled equipment filters and vacuums filter out 99.9% of all airborne dust. With no adhesives or coatings applied and use of existing building substrate, it is very helpful in LEED projects.
Some of the most common uses for polished concrete are in warehouses, retail stores, auto showrooms, office buildings, hotels, industrial facilities, restaurants, schools, institutions, packing and dry goods facilities, and paper mills.
